Xirp is a desktop app that gives developers one place to manage their AI coding agent sessions. You can run multiple agents in parallel, switch between them without losing context, and attach organizational context (skills, rules, docs, etc.), so the output is actually relevant to your codebase. It works with Claude, Gemini CLI, and Codex today, so you're not locked into a single vendor.

Not quite. Xirp doesn't generate code itself. It sits on top of the AI coding agents your team already uses and organizes their sessions into one interface. Think of it as a context layer. You can run multiple agents in parallel, track what's happening across your work, and stop losing progress when you switch between agents or tasks. It's vendor-neutral and works with Claude, Gemini CLI, and Codex.

Xirp currently supports Claude, Gemini CLI, and Codex to start. We designed it to be vendor-neutral, so your teams shouldn't have to pick one agent and live with it. You can switch between agents without losing your session context.

The desktop app is currently available on Mac. You download it and run it locally: sessions work with your local files and directories. No cloud execution. You can also download Xirp through Portal Foundations with an approved trial. Submit a request to try Xirp with Portal Foundations.

No, everything runs locally on your machine. If you're connected to Portal Foundations, you can share session context back with your team through Portal, but the sessions themselves are local.

Xirp is available for download as a beta product, but it's not open source.

Portal provides organizational context like your software catalog, component metadata, docs from Google Drive, and work items from Linear through what we call a Portal Workspace. When you launch a session in Xirp from Portal, the agent starts with that context instead of from scratch. After the session, you can share results back to Portal for your team to see.

Portal Foundations has the same core components as Portal including the catalog and Workspace, allowing you to start each coding session with your organization's context already built in.
